UPI QR code generator (with amount)
Make a UPI QR code for the exact amount a customer owes. They scan it with any UPI app, see your shop’s name and, say, ₹250, and pay straight into your bank account. It is free and nothing you type leaves your browser.
Updated:
The code is made in your browser; nothing you type or upload is sent anywhere.
How do I make a UPI QR code with an amount?
- Type your UPI ID exactly as your UPI app shows it (for example name@okhdfcbank).
- Type the name customers should see.
- Type the amount due, or leave it empty so the customer types it.
- Download the PNG, or copy the payment link, and send it or print it for the counter.
UPI ID shop@okicici, name Sharma Kirana, amount ₹1,250: upi://pay?pa=shop@okicici&pn=Sharma%20Kirana&am=1250.00&cu=INR
Check it before you share it
- Scan the code with your own UPI app first: it must show your name and the right amount.
- One wrong letter in the UPI ID sends the payment nowhere; copy the ID from your UPI app’s profile.
- Make a new code for each amount; with the amount left empty, one code works for every sale.
- Never ask a customer for a PIN or OTP. And beware of anyone who asks you to “scan to receive money”: scanning and entering a PIN sends money, it never receives it.
Is this a merchant QR?
No. It is a person-to-person UPI payment link with your details; it is not a merchant account, a payment gateway or a soundbox, and it does not tell you when a payment arrives. Check your UPI or bank app for that. Whether your bank charges anything for UPI payments depends on your bank and app: ask them.
A UPI code on every reminder and statement
In the Baki Fast app, set UPI as the payment QR in your business profile once. Every reminder then ends with your payment line, and with Pro each customer’s statement and receipt carries a UPI code for exactly what they owe. See payment reminders and account statements.
Questions
Is my UPI ID saved anywhere?
No. The code is made in your browser; nothing you type is sent to a server.
Can I make a UPI QR code for a bank account number?
A UPI QR code needs a UPI ID (a virtual payment address). Most banks give one to every account holder in their app; use that ID here.
Which apps can scan it?
Any UPI app: PhonePe, Google Pay, Paytm, BHIM and the banks’ own apps all read the same upi://pay link.
