IBAN check and payment QR code
Check an IBAN before you share it: if one character is wrong, the check fails at once. Then put your name, IBAN and the amount due, say 250, in one text or a QR code to send or show at the counter.
Updated:
The check and the QR code are made in your browser; your IBAN is not sent anywhere.
How is an IBAN checked?
The two check digits after the country code are verified with an international calculation (mod 97). If one digit is wrong, the check fails and the tool warns you. Each country has a fixed IBAN length.
Will my bank’s app open this QR code?
This QR code carries your payment details as text: a phone camera shows the name, IBAN and amount to copy. Some countries have their own bank payment QR standards (for example EPC QR in the euro area, or national instant-payment codes); those come from your bank.
Add payment details to reminders
In Baki Fast you write your payment details once in the shop profile, and every reminder ends with them. With Pro they appear on statements and receipts too.
Questions
Is my IBAN stored anywhere?
No. The check and the QR code are made in your browser; nothing is sent to a server.
Does it work for any country?
Yes. Every country’s IBAN is checked with the same calculation.
