Personal debt tracker: money lent, shared costs and rent
Lent a friend 500, paid for a trip you shared, or collect rent and building dues? Write each one down in Baki Fast and see at a glance who owes you and whom you owe. It is free and needs no account; the app keeps records and never lends money.

Who keeps a debt book like this
- Friends and family: money you lent, money you borrowed, and what is still open.
- Shared costs: flatmates, a holiday, a wedding gift bought together; each person’s share on their own account.
- Rent and building dues: a landlord with a few flats, or the neighbour who collects the building’s monthly dues.
- Freelancers and tradespeople: a tutor, a tailor or an electrician whose clients pay later. The industry pages show how each trade does it.
How to write it down
- Add the person. If they owe you, add them as a customer; if you owe them, as a supplier. The home screen then shows two totals: To collect and To pay.
- When you lend money or pay for them, tap Write credit on their account. Add a note such as “for the car repair” and, if you agreed one, a due date.
- When they pay you back, even part of it, tap Take payment. The balance updates at once.
- Paying back in parts? Tap Installments while you write it: the amount is split into equal monthly parts, each with its own due date.
3 March: you lend Deniz 1,000 for his rent. 1 April: Deniz pays back 400. Deniz’s account: 600 still to collect.
Shared costs, split fairly
Baki Fast does not split a bill by itself; you write each person’s share on their account. Paid 900 for a dinner for three? Write 300 on each of the two friends’ accounts. When everyone has paid, their accounts show settled, and nobody has to remember who paid last time.
Rent and building dues
Give each tenant or flat its own account and write the rent or the dues each month with its due date. On rent day, send the reminder on WhatsApp with the exact amount; when the money comes in, give a payment receipt that shows what is still owed. A monthly collection reminder in Tasks tells you when it is time to ask; the free version keeps up to 3 tasks running.
Ask without the awkwardness
- A reminder on WhatsApp or SMS with the exact amount, worded politely. You can still change the words in WhatsApp before you send.
- A PDF statement lists every entry and payment, so there is nothing to argue about.
- If the other person also uses Baki Fast, a shared account shows you both the same account. The free version has 2 shared accounts, Pro has no limit.
Your records stay private
There is no sign-up and the app works offline; your records stay on your phone, locked with a PIN or your fingerprint if you like. Turn on the free cloud backup with one tap: it is end-to-end encrypted, so we cannot read names or amounts, and a recovery code brings the book back on a new phone. Opening the same book on a second phone or a computer is part of Pro.
Baki Fast is a notebook, not a lender: it does not lend money, add interest or collect payments for you. It keeps the record that both of you can trust.
Questions
Is Baki Fast only for shops?
No. Anyone can use it to keep track of money between people: friends, family, flatmates, tenants or clients.
Can I track money I owe, not just money owed to me?
Yes. Add that person as a supplier: what you owe shows under To pay, and each repayment brings it down.
Does Baki Fast lend money or charge interest?
No. It only keeps your records; it never lends, collects or adds interest.
Will the other person see my entries?
Only if you share them: send a reminder or a PDF statement, or open a shared account if they use Baki Fast too.
What if I lose my phone?
With the free cloud backup on, a recovery code brings your book back on the new phone. Without it, restore the backup file you saved to Drive or e-mail.
