Moving from Khatabook to Baki Fast
Khatabook’s help describes customer statements and reports as PDF downloads, and Baki Fast cannot read PDF files. The quick way over: note each customer’s current balance in Khatabook, then paste the list into Baki Fast, one person per line with name and amount. You check a preview before anything is saved.

What does Khatabook’s help say about statements?
Khatabook’s own help pages describe two downloads, and both are PDF files:
- One customer: open the customer’s khata, tap PDF, choose a start and an end date, and download.
- All customers: on the home page, tap PDF; a report is downloaded, and filters let you narrow it down.
The help pages do not mention an Excel or CSV export. A PDF is a good record of the old book, but it cannot be imported, so the balances move as a short list instead.
How do you move in a few minutes?
- In Khatabook, download the PDF of each customer you want a record of, or the report of all customers.
- Note each customer’s current balance: who owes you, and how much. Suppliers you owe can go on the same list with a minus in front (−4,000).
- In Baki Fast, open Settings › Import from another app or Excel and tap Paste a balance list.
- Type or paste one person per line, for example “Ramesh Kumar 1,250”, and tap Read.
- Check the preview: name, amount and who owes. Choose Customers or Suppliers and the date of the balances.
- Save. Each person gets one Carried over entry; if something is wrong, Undo removes the whole list at once.
Ramesh Kumar 1,250 Suresh: 300.50 Mohan - ₹1,25,000 Sharma Wholesale −4,000
After saving, compare the total in Baki Fast with the total you noted in Khatabook. Starting the new book with agreed figures saves arguments later.
Which ways of writing amounts work?
Indian and international formats are both read: “1,25,000”, “1,250.50”, “₹1,250” and “Rs. 500/-”, in Devanagari or Bengali digits too. A name that is already in your book is marked Already there, so nobody is added twice: you Add the balance to that person or Skip the line.
A line that reads two ways is listed for you to fix, never guessed. “Ramesh 1 250” could be 1,250, or a “Ramesh 1” who owes 250; write “Ramesh: 1 250” or “Ramesh 1,250” instead.
What about the history?
The list brings each person’s current balance, not every past entry. Keep the PDFs as the record of the old book. Khatabook’s help also says its data is backed up automatically and comes back when you log in with the same phone number, so the history stays there too.
From the day you switch, write new sales and payments in Baki Fast. If you also kept dated entries in a spreadsheet, Baki Fast imports Excel and CSV files with the full history; see moving from paper or Excel.

Questions
Can Baki Fast read the PDF statement from Khatabook?
No, PDF files cannot be imported. Keep the PDF as a record and paste the balances as a list.
What if a customer is already in Baki Fast?
The preview marks the name Already there. Choose Add to put the balance on that person, or Skip; nobody is added twice unless you choose it.
Do I need the internet to move?
Not for Baki Fast: pasting the list and saving it work offline.
Can I undo the import?
Yes. Right after saving, tap Undo on the “Saved” message and the whole list is removed.
